Seven months after the start of the „Yellow West“ movement in France, participation in the nationwide protests has dropped to a new low. According to the Ministry of the Interior, 5,769 people went out on the streets yesterday – more than ever before. A week ago, 11,800 people had participated in the protests.

The „yellow vests“ movement indicated the number of participants on their Facebook page with 10,224. According to the Ministry of Interior, 1,300 people demonstrated in the capital, Paris, in the afternoon. In other cities, only a few hundred people gathered at high heat, if at all.

The „yellow vests“ have been demonstrating for more social justice and a resignation of President Emmanuel Macron since November 17. However, participation in the riots, which are at times riot-ridden, has meanwhile declined sharply: on November 17, 282,000 people had taken to the streets.
