Former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hired a Russian lawyer Ilya Novikov to defend in a number of criminal cases.
The European Solidarity party said that such a decision was made in connection with the intention of the GDB to seek legal assistance from Moscow in the case of the detention of Ukrainian sailors in the Kerch Strait.
Novikov used to defend Nadezhda Savchenko and Roman Mokryak detained in the Kerch Strait.
