The World Health Organization (WHO) does not expect a widespread vaccination against the coronavirus before mid-2021. So far, none of the candidates for a vaccine has given a „clear indication“ in clinical tests that the WHO’s targeted effectiveness of at least 50 percent will be achieved, a spokeswoman for the organization said today.
The US health authorities and the US pharmaceutical company Pfizer had stated that a vaccine could be available for distribution as early as the end of October, shortly before the US presidential election.
