In the dispute with the tax authorities, US actor Wesley Snipes (56) has suffered a defeat, as the „Hollywood Reporter“ reported yesterday. A court in Washington had rejected Snipes‘ complaint against a supplementary payment of 20.5 million euros. The 56-year-old has not been able to prove, according to the judge, that he was only able to repay a six-figure sum.
The star of the „Blade“ trilogy has long had trouble with the tax authorities. He had been found guilty of paying far too low income tax from 1999 to 2004, so he spent three years in prison. Snipes is said to have cheated the state by several million dollars. He himself claimed to have been wrongly counseled.
