There is currently a war of words between Sweden and Hungary in the context of current developments in Hungarian family policy. The Hungarian ambassador has been quoted for today to the Foreign Ministry in Stockholm.
The reason for this was a statement by Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen, who, according to Swedish TV, in a Hungarian talk show last weekend called Swedish Social Security Minister Annika Strandhäll a „poor, sick creature“.
Strandhall had previously described in a tweet Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s policy announced last week as „alarming“. In particular, it dealt with the announced tax relief for the birth of Hungarian children as an alternative to the immigration of needed workers.
