In Lebanon, violent confrontations between security forces and anti-government protesters have occurred again. The army stopped a march of hundreds of demonstrators in the city of Tripoli in the north of the country, the AFP news agency reported. As a result, stones were thrown from the ranks of the demonstrators and soldiers fired into the air.

Several people were injured during the confrontations. The Red Cross said it had taken three people to the hospital and treated others on the spot. According to the army, rioters set fire to several bank buildings. A military vehicle with a Molotov cocktail was also thrown at it.

With the march, the demonstrators overruled the initial restrictions applicable in the coronavirus crisis. Children also went. The demonstrators shouted „Revolution, Revolution“.
