Prior to a planned international aid delivery, Venezuelan soldiers have blocked a border crossing to Colombia, according to opposition figures. A tank truck and a huge container yesterday blocked the Tienditas bridge between neighboring states, media reported.
Opposition MP Franklyn Duarte said the transition between the Venezuelan city of Urena and the Colombian city of Cucuta was blocked by members of the Venezuelan armed forces.
The planned aid delivery was coordinated by the self-styled Venezuelan interim president Juan Guaido. Head of state Nicolas Maduro strictly rejects such deliveries. He uses it as an excuse to prepare the ground for a US-led military invasion. In Venezuela, as a result of the political and economic crisis, there is an extreme shortage of food and medicines.
