US Democrats do not allow debates to be broadcast by Fox News

The US Democrats will not broadcast any of their televised debates in the pre-election campaign of the 2020 presidential election from broadcaster Fox News. This was announced by party leader Tom Perez in Washington. Perez spoke of an „inappropriate relationship“ between Fox News and US President Donald Trump.

Fox News is the widest coverage cable channel in the US and belongs to the empire of the arch-conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch. He is considered the house and yard transmitter of the president. The New Yorker magazine recently described the proximity in a lengthy article, raising the question of whether Fox News is de facto state television.

Fox news journalists keep coming up with little critical questions to the president, and opinion programs equate to homage to the president and his policies. Trump also uses Fox News as a pool for recruiting staff, including the White House.

The station regretted the decision of the Democrats and hopes for a reversal. The moderator team Chris Wallace, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum is the best that US television has to offer for the moderation of TV debates.
