Due to an Instagram post, Donald Trump’s former campaign advisor, Roger Stone, had to appear in court today. The judge threatened him with detention.
Roger Stone, the former US President Donald Trump’s advisor, once again apologized in court for an Instagram post that showed his judge a crosshair in the background.
Stone posted the picture on Instagram on Tuesday, and Judge Amy Berman Jackson can be seen next to a cross that was interpreted as a crosshair. Shortly thereafter, Stone had apologized and the photo was deleted.
Nevertheless, he had to appear in court over the case on Thursday: he had disrespected the post office secrecy order that had been imposed on him for a criminal case in connection with the Russia investigation by US special investigator Robert Mueller. Stone apologized again: „I disobeyed the order,“ said the hearing during the hearing. „I’m angry about my own stupidity.“
Then he asked the judge Jackson for a second chance: „Forgive me the transgression.“ Jackson tightened the secrecy order: Stone may not speak publicly about his lawsuit, address it on social media, or indirectly comment on the process via proxies.
If Stone violates the order, he faces imprisonment.
