To protect against the spread of the corona virus, a tightened mask requirement comes into force in Mallorca and the other Balearic Islands. Mouth and nose protection must be worn by order of the regional government in all closed public spaces, as well as on the street and outdoors, as soon as there is an opportunity to meet other people.
On the beach, at the pool and during sports, however, nobody still has to wear a mask. The Balearic Islands are thus following the example of Catalonia, where, due to new sources of infection, a tightened mask requirement has been in place since Thursday.
Regional exit restriction in Spain
In Spain, however, an exit restriction has been ordered for the first time since the relaxation of the coronavirus measures in June. The people in the city of Lleida and seven surrounding communities are only allowed to leave the house for work, shopping or for urgent matters such as doctor visits, the newspaper „La Vanguardia“ reported.
This further tightened measures in the region located in the west of Catalonia, which has been in effect for more than 200,000 people for a week. The area where there is an increase in the number of infections had already been largely sealed off from the outside world. Since then, the police have checked the access roads.
