Warning shot at the local election
The government of Prime Minister May had wanted to prevent electoral participation. Polls see significant losses for their conservatives and the opposition Labor Party. Winner of the election could be the newly formed Brexit party.

Tough talks with the opposition
Tories and Labor negotiated again today to find a way out of the blockade in parliament. There, May had failed three times in votes on their EU-negotiated Brexit treaty. The consultations already last four weeks, but an approximation of the two parties is not yet apparent.
