In the face of rising CoV deaths, several U.S. states have ordered refrigerated trucks for Covid 19 deaths. In Texas and Arizona, authorities placed orders to prepare for the worst because of a lack of space in mortuaries and crematoriums.
„We can’t put them anywhere. It sounds terrible, but it’s true, ”said Texas Mayor of San Antonio, Ron Nirenberg, a few days ago about the fatalities. To date, more than 3,700 people have died from Covid-19 in Texas. In the state of Arizona, which has so far recorded around 2,500 deaths, the authorities in the Maricopa district ordered 14 refrigerated vehicles with a capacity of around 300 victims.
At the beginning of the pandemic, the city of New York, which was particularly badly hit at the time, had already been forced to use refrigerated vehicles because the mortuaries, cemeteries and crematoriums had trouble storing and burying the many deceased people. The United States is the country with the most CoV deaths worldwide.
