One week after a large rally, tens of thousands of supporters of the new opposition movement PDM gathered in Pakistan. Numerous people gathered in the capital of Balochistan Province today, according to police. The newly founded Democratic Movement Pakistan (PDM) called for the rallies in September.

Once again, supporters of various political parties attended the meeting in Quetta city. Thousands of police officers attended the event. In the past there had been repeated attacks by Islamist extremists in the province. Prominent opposition politicians lead the protests.

The PDM, founded in September, is planning nationwide protests against the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Eleven parties from different political currents had joined the alliance. The politicians are calling for a new election and Khan’s resignation, among other things. A march on the capital Islamabad is planned for January 2021.
