Kigistan’s Prime Minister Sadyr Shaparov has declared himself president of the Central Asian country. „The powers of the President and the Prime Minister have been transferred to me,“ Shaparov said to his supporters today.
A few hours earlier, head of state Sooronbai Dscheenbekow had resigned, who had come under pressure from massive protests by his opponents after the controversial parliamentary election on October 4.
