According to information from security sources, at least eleven fighters of the Hashed al-Shaabi militia were killed in an ambush in Iraq. A spokesman for the Iraqi government-backed militia yesterday blamed the Islamic State (IS) jihadist militia for the attack east of the city of Tikrit. So far, no one has confessed to the attack. Ten other fighters were injured according to information from security circles.
More than 30 people were killed in an attack by two suicide bombers on Thursday in a market in the capital Baghdad. IS committed itself to the attack, which was the worst in Baghdad in three years.
