US singer Selena Gomez (26, „It Is not Me“) has surprised her fans after a long break with a performance at the Coachella Festival in Southern California. Yesterday Gomez was there with rapper Cardi B, singer Ozuna and the French music producer DJ Snake on stage. Together they played their hit song „Taki Taki“ recorded in 2018. „Entertainment Tonight“ and other US media put extracts of it on the net on Saturday.
It was Gomez’s first stage appearance since a hospital stay last fall. In the fight against the rare autoimmune disease Lupus, the singer and actress had undergone a kidney transplant in 2017. She has repeatedly spoken openly about suffering from anxiety disorders and depression. More frequently, Gomez has been giving concerts in recent years and has also taken longer breaks from social networks.
In January, she had reported back to Instagram after a break of several months. „The past year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth,“ wrote the 26-year-old. „It’s always these challenges that show you who you are and what you can overcome.“
