An indictment for corruption, among other things, does not seem impossible. The investigators want to see him in court.
Israel’s police are recommending an indictment of Prime Minister Netanyahu in another corruption case. There is sufficient evidence of bribery, fraud and infidelity Netanyahu in the so-called case 4000, it said in a statement released on Sunday the police. His wife Sara was also involved.
Further investigation against Netanyahu
In the new case, Netanyahu is suspected of having granted legal benefits to the telecommunications company Bezeq as Secretary of Communications. In return, the company belonging to the group Walla should have reported positive about him.
The head of government and his confidants are also said to have influenced important appointments at Walla. Netanyahu gave the ministerial office in 2017. The police also recommend an indictment of the Bezeq owner Schaul Elovitch
The police had previously recommended that Netanyahu be charged with corruption in two other cases. The decision as to whether an indictment is actually filed lies with the Attorney General.
The prime minister himself denies any wrongdoing and has presented the allegations against him as a witch hunt of the media. (W.B./dpa)
