The broadcast of a speech by Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin has been temporarily interrupted on Russian state television today. It was only after several minutes that the coverage of the performance at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium resumed. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained the glitch a little later with server problems.
In front of tens of thousands of cheering people, Putin had praised the „military special operation“ in Ukraine. Then state television suddenly showed recorded images. Putin was later shown again. He was also shown finishing his speech.
The Kremlin chief stressed that all plans would be implemented in Ukraine. Inside the stadium, people waved the Russian state flag and flags with the letter Z, which is a symbol of the war in Ukraine, which Russia has described as a „military special operation“.
People shouted: “For Russia. For victory.” Above the stage on which Putin appeared was written: “For a world without Nazism”. The reason for the performance was the eighth anniversary of the incorporation of the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea on March 18, 2014.
