The Kremlin propaganda has presented first video footage of what is probably the deadliest nuclear submarine in the world.
The images released by the Ministry of Defense-run television station „Zvezda“ are said to have come into existence shortly before test drives in the Arctic.
170 meters long, 13.5 meters wide, ten meters high.
Weight: 14 720 tons, displacement: 24 000 tons! The maximum depth is 480 meters.
The super submarine travels under water at around 29 knots (53 km / h), according to Moscow online newspaper Lenta.ru. After all, there are still 15 knots over water (about 28 km / h). It is also considered very manoeuvrable.
Crew: Around 107 soldiers.
Camouflage: The external noise level is reduced to a minimum. As a result, the stealth nuclear submarine of the enemy should be hard to discover.
On board are 16 ballistic nuclear missiles (type: Bulawa-30), each with six atomic warheads. Each one of them has an explosive power of 150 kilotons!
By comparison, this is ten times the power of the Hiroshima bomb „Little Boy“, which only killed about 100,000 people when impacted.
In addition, there is the enormous threat potential: The rockets are to be able to reach targets up to 9500 kilometers away – thus the US, China and Europe are within reach from the North Arctic waters.
