This was announced by Petro Tsygykal, head of the Ukrainian border service. „Today, entry is limited, primarily for Russian citizens – no access for male Russian citizens between 16 and 60,“ said Tsygykal. President Petro Poroshenko had already announced measures against Russia the previous day.

Now he wrote on Twitter that denied entry was aimed at preventing Russians from forming „private armies“ fighting on Ukrainian soil.

Earlier this week, Ukraine proclaimed martial law for fear of a Russian invasion. On Sunday, a violent incident took place in the Straits of Kerch off the Crimea.

The Russian coastguard patrol boats of the Ukrainian Navy refused the passage. The three Ukrainian ships were arrested and 24 sailors were arrested. There were also shots from the Russian side, there were several injured.
