Russia received an invitation from the OSCE to send observers to the presidential elections in Ukraine, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“We received an invitation from the OSCE to send our observers to the mission that will monitor the elections. So we have an invitation, ”said Lavrov at a press conference with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.

In early January, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin said that the agency would not register Russian observers. He called this decision necessary.

At the same time, he said that he had sent a letter to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights with a proposal for an observation mission.
