The tax burden of Germans has increased last year, according to a media report.
The tax rate had risen in 2018 to 22.8 percent of nominal gross domestic product, reported the „Rheinische Post“, citing a response from the federal government to a small request from the FDP.
This is 0.4 percentage points more than in the previous year. In 2005, the rate was still at 19.6 percent. At the turn of the year, a number of changes have come into force to relieve taxpayers – especially families.
