With almost 19,800 new infections detected within 24 hours, Russia reports a high. The number of cases of infection rose by 19,768 to over 1.69 million, as it was officially known. In Moscow alone there were over 5,800 cases.
Authorities recorded an additional 389 deaths, bringing the total to 29,217.
