Police shoot down attackers at Brisbane Airport

According to media reports, the police shot down a man at the airport in the city of Brisbane, the eastern Australian city, after threatening with a knife and a supposed bomb. The newspaper The Courier Mail reported online that the man had gone into the departure area with a metal box with wires sticking out, saying it was a bomb.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspect also tried to stab his ex-wife. Queensland police said a man was arrested. She categorized the incident as „domestic violence“ that there was no evidence of a terrorist act. Nobody had been injured by the responders and passengers. She also confirmed that the airport was evacuated.
