France hit the million mark for coronavirus vaccinations earlier than expected. Prime Minister Jean Castex spread the news on Twitter yesterday. The original goal of the government in Paris was to vaccinate a million people by the end of January.
The vaccination campaign in France began on December 27th. At first there was a lot of criticism because the vaccinations started too slowly. In response, the government increased the number of people eligible for vaccination.
Industry minister Agnes Pannier-Runacher issued the next target to vaccinate 15 million people by June. She was „fairly confident“ that this goal could even be exceeded.
