According to a New York Times report, US President Donald Trump has given his counselor and son-in-law Jared Kushner access to top secret information despite concerns from intelligence officials.
Trump has ordered an appropriate release for Kushner in May, the New York Times reported, citing four persons briefed on the case.
Trump’s then Chief of Staff John F. Kelly protested in an internal letter. The CIA apparently had concerns about Kushner’s contacts with foreign governments and companies.
This is in contradiction to Trump’s statements to the newspaper, it said further: He said in an interview in January that he had played no role in the permit. Trump’s spokeswoman Sarah Sanders has rejected a comment on the report.
