According to a media report, the number of job vacancies for the elderly has fallen for the first time in five years. From December 2017 to December 2018, it had dropped from 24,279 to 22,950, reports the Rheinische Post, citing the Federal Employment Agency.
Accordingly, the number of vacancies in December 2013 was 12,826 and has been steadily rising ever since. In order to alleviate the shortage of human resources in nursing, the Bundestag recently passed a legislative proposal providing for more jobs and more attractive working conditions.
