Number of seriously ill in Israel at a ten-month low

For the first time in almost ten months, the number of people seriously ill with Covid-19 fell below 100 in Israel. According to yesterday’s health ministry data, 97 people were classified as seriously ill. 63 were ventilated.

The last time there were fewer than 100 seriously ill people in the Mediterranean country on July 7th. On January 17th, their number peaked at 1,192.

A successful vaccination campaign has been running in Israel since mid-December. The number of infections and illnesses has been falling steadily for around three months. According to the ministry’s data, 51 new cases were reported within 24 hours. Only 0.2 percent of almost 29,000 tests were positive. Most of the CoV restrictions have been lifted again.
