On the political level, everything looks like relaxation between North and South Korea. Instead of rocket launches, fleet maneuvers and threats, friendly gestures now dominate. Recently, hundreds of tons of mushrooms and tangerines were exchanged as gifts. Behind the scenes, however, North Korea’s cyber forces are plundering one payment system after another, tens of millions of dollars have disappeared.
This campaign to raise foreign currency had started after the economic sanctions in September 2017, and has since been used by the US authorities under the code name „Fastcash“. To date, banks have been robbed in two waves in at least 30 states in the southern hemisphere. So it’s quite possible that the next wave of attacks in Europe can affect banks.
