North Korea has taken statements from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as an opportunity to question nuclear talks with Washington.

„Our expectations of a dialogue with the US are gradually dwindling and we are being forced to question all our previous actions,“ the official news agency KCNA today quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui. Pompeo had previously accused Pyongyang of „unpredictable behavior.“ Such speech is inappropriate, irritating and insulting, Choe said.

The talks between the US and North Korea on denuclearization are currently not coming. A summit meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korea’s ruler Kim Jong Un in February had been broken off without result.

In June, Trump and Kim met again in the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea. The talks did not progress. Most recently, North Korea tested missiles several times.

One week ago, Pyongyang described US Secretary of State Pompeo as an „incorrigible poison“ and vowed to remain „the biggest threat to the US“.
