The electronics company LG has found an original answer to the Auffalt smartphones of some major rivals: a second screen. The additional display sits in a kind of folding envelope and thus in the open state directly next to the screen of the phone.
However, competitors such as Samsung and Huawei presented phones in which a larger tablet display can be folded. This innovation has its price. Samsung Galaxy Fold should cost 2,000 euros and the Mate X Huawei even about 2,300 euros. The solution from LG should be a lot cheaper. The announcement at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona yesterday, however, a price was not mentioned.
Surf and watch TV at the same time
The second screen in the case is for the first smartphone of the South Koreans, which supports the new 5G data radio: the model V50 ThinQ 5G. The fact that the two displays can act independently of each other, applies LG as an advantage. So you could, for example, watch a movie and look at the same time on the other screen something on the Internet. Also could be faded in on the second display about the control buttons for a video game.
Another innovation in the phone is the unlocking by venous recognition in the hand. This method is often used for corporate access control and is considered safer than fingerprint scanning.
