Following new rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip, Israel’s air forces have today fired at military targets of the Islamist Hamas ruling in the Palestinian territory. Among other things, a workshop for weapons production had been hit, said the Israeli army. Six projectiles had previously been fired at Israel from the coastal strip.
Militant Palestinians yesterday also sent numerous incendiary and explosive balloons to the Israeli side of the border. As a result, Israel’s army attacked a Hamas military post and an underground facility with jets and a tank. There were no reports of possible victims.
After several months of calm, attacks from the Gaza Strip had risen sharply in recent weeks. Israel then imposed new restrictions and, for example, stopped the import of fuel into the coastal area and closed the fishing zone off the Gaza Strip. After further coronavirus cases outside of special quarantine facilities became known, there is also a lockdown imposed by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
