Almost two-thirds of Israelis currently eligible for coronavirus vaccination have received their second dose. As the Ministry of Health announced yesterday evening, the mark of four million second vaccinations was exceeded.

The government initially wants to vaccinate at least 6.2 million people. Around a third of the population is younger than 16 years; this group has not yet been vaccinated. Around 5.1 million people in Israel have received primary vaccination so far. The vaccination campaign in Israel, with a population of around 9.3 million, began shortly before Christmas and is one of the most successful in the world.
