Midterms: Reorders in Florida arranged

In Florida, because of the tight electoral ballast, there is a recount of votes in two races of the US election. This was reported by several US media yesterday, citing officials in Florida. The electoral laws in the state provide for a machine recount of votes, provided that the difference between two candidates falls below 0.5 percentage points. This is now the case – both in the race for a State Senate seat and in the race for governor post in Florida.

The development provides for violent political dispute. The Republicans – led by US President Donald Trump – suspect manipulation attempts. Trump wrote on Twitter that they are trying to „steal“ the elections.
More open races

The US had elected a new congress on Tuesday. In the two races for the Senate seat and the governorship in Florida, the narrow projections of the Republican candidates in recent days after counting more absentee ballots had shrunk so much that a recount of votes is needed. Elsewhere, individual decisions are still open, such as in Arizona, Mississippi and Georgia.

Europe is afraid of consequences

The elections put a damper on the Republicans. The fact that Trump deviates therefore from its „America First“ policy is still considered excluded. On the contrary, in Europe, concerns are now turning to a resurgence of the trade dispute. The auto industry could again target Washington.
