The 1st consultation meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria took place on January 28 in Algiers, Algeria. The consultation was attended by delegates headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia D.Davaasuren and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria Rachid Bladehane.
Sides exchanged views on the current state of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries and the fields which cooperation could be developed. Moreover, issues of cooperation within the United Nations and other international organizations and current issues at international and regional levels were discussed.

Emphasizing the importance of using bilateral resources to deepen the bilateral relations in the fields of trade, economics, mining, agriculture, environment, tourism, culture and education, sides are set to invite representatives of the two countries to international conferences, exhibitions, arts and cultural events, sports competitions as well as to support to establish ties between businesses, governmental and non-governmental officials.
During the meeting, the Mongolian side offered to train its mining engineers and Arabic specialists in Algeria, specifically in Algerian oil company Sonatrach in connection with the commencing of Mongolian oil refinery plant in coming years and Algerian side pledged to support on this matter.
Sides also agreed to sign documents aimed at strengthening the legal framework for bilateral cooperation, such as cooperation in the fields of mining, agriculture, culture, education, science and sports.
