0

The US fast-food group McDonald’s must fear in Europe for the trademark rights for the Big Mac according to media reports. Background is a judgment in favor of the Irish fast food chain Supermac’s.

According to the Irish judgment, McDonald’s did not provide sufficient evidence for the continued use of the Big Mac brand, as reported, inter alia, by the German ‚Manager Magazin‘ (online edition).

According to the information, there is already a deletion of the European Trademark Office (EUIPO). McDonald’s can still take legal action against the decision. However, should the EUIPO decision become final, the McDonald’s classic in Europe could be sold in future by the competition.
