Many people were killed in a car bomb explosion in the northern Syrian city of al-Bab. At least 14 people were killed, said a spokesman for the rescue organization Weißhelme today. More than 30 people were injured. There was also major property damage.
At first it was unclear who was responsible for the explosion. Al-Bab is located northeast of the city of Aleppo. The region is controlled by the Turkish army and allied Syrian rebels. There had been repeated explosions there in the past. At least three people died in a detonation in al-Bab over the weekend.
