On the Spanish holiday island of Mallorca, hotels are increasingly opening their doors after the harsh winter with a new, violent pandemic wave and numerous restrictions. Visitors already have the choice between 188 hotels, as the Mallorcan hotel association FEHM announced yesterday. That was 22.65 percent of all hotels or just under 19 percent of all hotel beds on the island, it said.

In the past seven days alone, 32 accommodation facilities in different parts of the Mediterranean island have resumed operations.
Some rules to be followed

If you want to enjoy the beautiful weather and temperatures of well over 20 degrees on Mallorca in view of the relaxed location, you still have to follow a few rules despite the easing of the past few weeks. Between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. there is a nocturnal ban on all islands.

The interiors of bars, cafes and restaurants will remain closed for the time being – probably until May 23rd. For a few days now, restaurateurs have been allowed to serve meals outdoors between 6 a.m. and 10.30 p.m.

According to the Ministry of Health in Madrid, almost 21 people per 100,000 inhabitants in the Balearic Islands were recently infected with the corona virus within seven days. This 7-day incidence is currently lower in Spain only in Valencia (13.66). Mallorca and the other islands in the region temporarily had the highest values in the country in winter.
