At an Easter dinner with the family, the police in Sicily caught a suspected Mafia boss. As the ANSA news agency reported today, the suspect had actually fled to Brazil some time ago.
But before Easter he was drawn back home to the Palermo area. Together with this alleged leader of the Pagliarelli clan, the Carabinieri arrested four other men, according to media reports. They are also said to have been active for the Sicilian Cosa Nostra.
The suspects have been charged with extortion, assault, kidnapping and other serious crimes using Mafia methods, among other things. The access was coordinated by the prosecutors in Palermo and other anti-mafia investigators.
