After a jewelry theft in Paris, in which a woman had spent as an Arab princess, the prey has been found in the value of more than 1.6 million euros. Investigators were securing the jewels in a hotel room in the Seine-Saint-Denis department north of Paris, a police official said yesterday. Nobody was arrested at first.

Two women had stolen the jewelry in late July in a luxury jewelry store in downtown Paris. One of the women pretended to be a princess from the United Arab Emirates and showed off jewelry.

The women promised to transfer money to buy the jewels the next day and left the store. Only when the promised transfer did not arrive did the jeweler discover that the women had taken the jewelry in the box and replaced it with soup cubes.
