A British parliamentary committee plans to publish a long-awaited report today on Russia’s possible interference in British politics. The paper will be presented in the lower house around noon, the secret service committee announced on its website.

The 50-page report has been ready last year. The report was commissioned by the then Prime Minister Theresa May at the end of 2017. However, the publication of the results has been postponed due to the parliamentary election last December. Today’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson then delayed the appointment of a new secret service committee. It met only last week and agreed on a date for the publication of the Russia report.

The report is eagerly awaited by Johnson’s political opponents. They hope to include details about possible Russian donors to Johnson’s conservative Torys. There are many conjectures in Great Britain that Russia could have interfered in the Brexit referendum of 2016. Only a few days ago, Great Britain had also accused Russia of trying to intervene in the December parliamentary elections. London also accuses the Kremlin of hiring hackers to gather information about British research into coronavirus vaccines. Moscow rejected the allegations.
