In China, a woman has been sentenced to one year in prison for hiding symptoms of coronavirus before a flight. As the state newspaper „Global Times“ reported today, the 37-year-old Chinese woman took an antipyretic drug last spring before a flight from the USA to China.
She did not disclose her symptoms until after landing in Beijing. There she was later tested positive for the coronavirus. 63 close contacts of the woman had to go into quarantine afterwards.
Your actions would have violated the regulations and pose a serious risk for the spread of the virus, a Beijing court ruled last October, as the „Global Times“ now reported.
China is one of the countries with the toughest coronavirus rules in the world. The pandemic has been largely under control since early summer.
