The Kremlin has declared that it is impossible to accept Estonia's requirements

The Russian government is counting on a peaceful solution to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. That is the only way, a Kremlin spokesman said today. The Azerbaijani President said on Tuesday that his country would take back control of the mountainous enclave by force. Armenia had pushed for a diplomatic solution. The foreign ministers of the warring factions are expected to meet with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington tomorrow.

Mostly Christian Armenians live in Nagorno-Karabakh, the leadership there is supported by the Armenian government in Yerevan. Under international law, the area belongs to the predominantly Islamic Azerbaijan, which it renounced in 1991. Fighting broke out on September 27, and has so far resulted in more than 800 deaths.
