The jihadist militia „Islamic State“ (IS) has claimed the double attack on a Catholic church in the south of the Philippines. According to the specialized monitoring Islamist websites US companies Site IS informed yesterday, two suicide bombers had blown up in the church and on the parking lot in the air.
The attack killed at least 18 people and injured more than 80 others. After military have exploded during the service initially a bomb inside the church, a second was a short time later ignited amid brought geeilter soldiers in front of the church. It was one of the worst attacks of recent years.
Jolo is located in the Muslim south of the Philippines. There, the militant Islamist group Abu Sayyaf is active, which has already made numerous bombings and kidnapped foreigners again and again.
