Ireland was seen as a model student in dealing with the corona virus in the autumn. It was the first country in Europe to impose a strict, six-week lockdown due to the second wave of CoV until the beginning of December, thereby achieving the lowest infection rate in Europe. Now the country has even overtaken the USA and Great Britain with its new CoV infections. The hospitals are struggling with rapidly increasing patient numbers and staff shortages.
