The Iranian Revolutionary Guards have confiscated a tugboat with 40,000 liters of smuggled oil on board in the Persian Gulf. According to the Tasnim news agency today, the forces deployed the ship near the city of Bushehr in the south.

It was handed over to the local judiciary. The report did not mention which flag the ship was flying and how many crew members were on board.

In the Persian Gulf there are always ships and boats that illegally smuggle oil and gas into the neighboring Arabian Gulf countries. Some of them are caught and arrested by the Iranian Coast Guard or Revolutionary Guard, but many get through. According to Iranian information, this is organized crime and it is therefore difficult to find the backers of these smuggling gangs.
