Iran has reported a new maximum number of coronavirus deaths within a day. A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health said on state television today that 221 patients have died from the virus in the past 24 hours. The number of fatalities is currently 12,305.
Over 2,000 new infections were recorded in the same period. Thus, the number of infections so far proven to 250,458, said spokeswoman Sima Lari. According to experts, the increase is due to the easing in recent weeks. They would have resulted in the population no longer taking hygiene regulations and the pandemic seriously.
