According to a newspaper report, Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson announces to the EU that he will withhold 30 billion pounds (about 32.6 billion euros) from the withdrawal payments without any changes to the exit agreement.
According to calculations by British lawyers, if London leaves the union without a follow-up agreement, the government will only have to pay nine instead of 39 billion pounds, the daily „Mail on Sunday“ reported. Reason is that there are no costs associated with a transitional period.
