A human rights organization has filed a complaint in Argentina against the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The prince is due to be arrested for torturing and killing journalist Jamal Khashoggi in his participation in the upcoming G20 summit in Buenos Aires, Human Rights Watch (HRW) has requested on Monday at a federal court in the Argentine capital.
Representatives of the most powerful industrialized and emerging countries will meet in Buenos Aires on 30 November and 1 December for their summit. Mohammed bin Salman will represent Saudi Arabia at the meeting.

Judge Ariel Lijo instructed the prosecutor’s office to determine whether the killing of Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul could be punished in Buenos Aires, according to the daily Clarín on Monday. HRW also reported the Saudi crown prince for suspected war crimes in the Yemen conflict.
Argentina recognized the universal principle of torture and war crimes, according to a statement by HRW. According to this principle, the judiciary can prosecute crimes of this kind regardless of the crime scene and the citizenship of victims or perpetrators.
Saudi Arabia has admitted the killing of the exiled US journalist and regime critic. However, it has rejected indications of involvement of the Crown Prince in the case.
