An ICE from Germany has partially derailed in Basel, Switzerland. There is currently no information about the injured, said a spokesman for the railway. The power car and a car had jumped on the driveway to the SBB station last night from the rails. The ICE 373 was on its way from Berlin-Ostbahnhof to Interlaken in the canton of Bern.

The Swiss Fire Brigade initiated measures to evacuate the passengers. The accident happened on the short stretch between the stations Basel-Badischer Bahnhof and Basel-SBB. Travelers could bypass the closed section by tram, the station spokesman said. The effects on long-distance traffic are expected to be manageable.
